What Is The Advocare 24 Day Challenge

So what is the Advocare 24 Day Challenge?

The Advocare challenge is a weight loss and nutrition challenge that you will take over the course of 24 days.

The challenge is broken up into 2 phases:

  • Days 1-10 – the cleanse phase – in the first 10 days you will focus on cleaning your body from all of the harmful toxins that are holding your back from achieving your goals and making you feel sluggish.
  • Days 11-24 – the max phase – in the last 14 days you will focus on fueling your body so that you can achieve maximum results

Cleanse Phase

Days 1-10 are all about cleaning out your body, your body has to be able to absorb the nutrients that your will be taking in during the max phase but it cannot do that until you have fully prepared your body by removing the harmful toxins stored inside of you.

I know it sounds kind of gross to think about stored harmful toxins in your body but trust me they are there and you will need to get rid of them before you have any chance of reaching your desired results.

The Advocare cleanse will give you the “fresh start” that you need before starting any significant lifestyle change.

During days 1-10 of the 24 day challenge Advocare you will take just 3 products from your challenge, hold the rest for the max phase.

advocare cleanse

  1. Adovcare Herbal Cleanse – is designed to help you eliminate the waste that is stored in your body then prepare you for maximum absorption of nutrients. The Herbal cleanse consists of 3 components – A Fiber Drink which is mixed with water, Herbal Cleanse caplets and Probiotic Restore.
  2. Omegaplex – Advocare’s award winning Omega 3 Fatty Oil Supplement
  3. Spark – Advocare’s energy drink mix that is designed to give you energy, nutrition and mental focus to keep you performing at your best throughout the day.

These 3 products, when taken as instructed will prepare you and your body for day 10-24 when you will be replacing and building up the “good” nutrients in your body.

Max Phase

After cleansing your body in days 1-10, its time to move to the next phase, the max phase.

In the last 14 days of the Advocare 24 Day Challenge we will be shifting our efforts to fueling our body in order to achieve the max results we are looking for.

You will take 3 products during the max phase, once you have completed the challenge, these are three great products to continue taking everyday as part of healthy lifestyle.

advocare max phase

  2. Advocare Meal Replacement Shakes – Did you know that skipping meals is one of the worst mistakes you can make when trying to lose weight? Never let this happen again, these delicious low calorie shakes are ready in seconds and give you the protein, vitamins and minerals as well as the energy you need to get to your next meal.
  3. Advocare Spark – great tasting energy drink that gives you the boost and mental focus you need to perform at your best.

Advocare 24 Day Challenge

You will not be required to starve yourself while on the Advocare 24 Day Challenge, in-fact you are encouraged to eat, just eat the right foods that will help you reach your goals.

You will consume 5-6 small meals/snacks per day while on the challenge, this should be continued once you have completed the 24 days as it will help you increase then maintain a healthy metabolism.

While on the 24 day Advocare challenge you will feast on fresh fruits, vegetables, and plenty of lean proteins.

Don’t think this is some fad diet like Atkins or South Beach where you will be eating no carbs or watching your calories so closely that you will not have time to still enjoy your life.

What the 24 day challenge is designed to do is transform you and the way that you look at your body, once you see the results from taking the challenge you will then understand what works and know that this is a lifestyle that can be easily maintained.

Water is the key to any successful nutrition plan, you will be consuming at least 3/4 to 1 gallon of water per day, this will help your body flush out the bad stuff.

You are probably wondering which foods are off limits while on the challenge, keep in mind that this is a challenge, it wasn’t meant to be easy, but if you can avoid these foods, reaching your goals will be a lot easier.

In your first 10 days you will need to avoid the following foods, this is the hardest part about the Advocare 24 day challenge and where you will prove that you have what it takes to reach your goals and beat this challenge.

You should avoid at all costs alcohol, fried foods, refined sugars, syrups, honey, corn, breads, potatoes, crackers, chips, candy, white rice, cheeses, mushrooms, dressings and creamy sauces, dried or canned fruits, lunch meats, yogurt, milk, coffee, energy drinks and sodas.

You should also minimize the consumption of oatmeal, brown rice, hummus, beans, lentils, or whole wheat pastas (you should have these items in no more than tree meals during the cleanse phase)

What you should be eating during this first 10 days is fresh fruits, green vegetables, salads, chicken, fish, turkey, eggs, lean red meats, lean ground beef or turkey, tofu, almond milk, avocados, natural peanut butter, and unsalted cashews or almonds.

This will probably be a pretty drastic lifestyle change for most people, but keep in mind that it is only for 10 days and the point is to get the harmful toxins out of your body and not at new toxins.

Once you pass the first 10 days which I know you will, you will move into the max phase meal plan which is very similar to the food choices from the cleanse phase but not as restrictive.

You will be adding in a lot more complex carbohydrates and other items that were off limits in the cleanse phase.

The Max phase is broken down in two types of days, “Burn” and “Refuel” days – on burn days you will be increasing your intake of healthy fat and lean proteins and on refuel days you will be allowed to increase your intake of starchy carbohydrates and fruits at breakfast and lunch only.

The great thing about the max phase is you can snack on fresh veggies at any time when you are feeling hungry, you really cannot eat too many.

My Advocare Challenge Experience

I can remember it like it was yesterday, I was just over 280lbs, and for the first time in my life I was disgusted at what I saw looking back at me in the mirror.

I noticed my weight gain the entire time but knew I was only temporary and didn’t worry about it.

Well temporary came and went and the weight kept packing on.

It was no shock to me, I had terrible eating habits and they were finally catching up to me.

I knew I had to do something fast or I would soon be at the point real close to no return.

A friend of mine at work was having great success with her weight loss, so I asked what the heck she was doing.

This is when I was first introduced to Advocare, then about a week later she told me about the Advocare 24 Day Challenge.

I was skeptical at first because I had never heard about it and it was not one of the ones from the tv, but she told me that is what she was using and I had seen her results.

I figured what the heck, couldn’t hurt so I ordered my first challenge bundle.

I had read what others were saying about this Advocare diet plan online to get an idea of what to expect.

So off to the store I went to purchase all of the foods I would need for the 24 days.

My challenge arrived and I was so pumped up, I couldn’t wait to get started.

Day 1 started with my first ever Advocare Fiber Drink and ……

YUCK, I had forgot what they said about not letting it sit around, so it of course turned into pudding, but I was determined to stick to the plan so I added some water, mixed it up and did the best I could to get it down.

I really thought I would struggle with the reduction in the amount of food I was consuming while on the challenge but actually it seemed like I ate more than I was before and stayed fuller longer.

Really goes to show how the foods we eat plays a huge role in the how much we eat.

The day 1 fiasco with the fiber drink was my only real hiccup during the cleanse phase, besides all the dang pizza and fried chicken commercials that had me wanting to give up and cheat.

I kept telling myself why I was doing the Advocare challenge in the first place and kept moving forward.

Day 11 – the max phase, by now the cleanse was behind be and I was still pumped for my day 24 weight in.

The beginning of the max phase is when I first realized I could actually finish this challenge.

I had chosen the MNS Max C because I knew appetite control was going to be my weakness that would prevent me from staying on course.

I got to try the meal replacement shakes for the first time, I went with vanilla because I had read you could mix in fruit.

They were really good, so much better than the slim fast ones I had tried years before.

I kinda felt like I was cheating a little because it seemed like I was having dessert for breakfast.

I got through day 12 with no problems, I was really starting feel the increase in energy that comes from eating right and exercising.

I didn’t go crazy with the exercise in the first half of the challenge, but in the beginning of day 13 is when I actually cheated for first time.

I weighed myself that morning and when I saw I was already down 6 pounds, my confidence shot up and I knew I could get to 20 lbs lost if I stepped up my exercise.

So that is what I did, instead of a lazy 30 minute walk on the thread mill each day, I stepped up my pace on treadmill for the same 30 minutes but added an extra 30 minutes of free weights each day.

This was a whole new arena for me, me, the 280+ pound guy eating right and spending an hour in the gym each day.

I only missed two days in the gym over the last 14 days and I think that may have been what caused me to come up short on my 20 lb weight loss goal.

I finished the challenge 17 pounds, and 2 belt sizes less than when I started.

I was so proud of what I was able to accomplish thanks to hard work and sticking to the Advocare 24 Day Challenge meal plan.

For me, what was better than the weight loss or the increased energy I had was the fact that I now knew it was possible.

That is normally all I really needed, just knowing it was possible and that I proved to myself that I could do anything I set my mind to.

I have not let my momentum from my Advocare challenge die, I have continued eating right and working out as much as I can.

To date I have lost 64 pounds using Advocare products, my goal is 85 pounds and as soon as I hit my goal, I will be redesigning this blog with my new look plastered all over it.

I can’t wait :)

I am trying to lose 20 lbs, could I do this with the advocare 24 day challenge?

I would say that losing 20 pounds in 24 days is not a realistic goal, however there have been many people who have lost this much or more on the challenge.

Everyone is different so I can guarantee what your specific results will be.

I personally have shot for 20 lbs in each of my challenges and have not hit it yet but have came really close, 18 lbs is my best result so far.

But you should think of the challenge as more of a jump start to your new healthy lifestyle and not so much on the actual results, I have heard many stories of people who did not lose much on the challenge but continued to eat right and exercise and passed their weight loss goals shortly after finishing the challenge.

I do think the Advocare 24 Day Challenge is a great system that anyone looking to improve their overall wellness should consider, but the challenge is just the start, its really is what you do in days 25 and beyond that will get you the best results.

Let me know if you have any additional questions. Thanks

Kim F.

What are the other benefits from this program besides weight loss and energy?

Hey Kim

Thanks for the question.

There are many benefits of the Advocare 24 Day Challenge besides just weight loss and energy, although those are two of the big ones. (below are the results I personally have seen from my 3 completed challenges)

1. You will be clearing all the harmful toxins and waste that are stored in your body
2. You will be able to break through a plateau you are having with your quest for overall wellness (if applicable)
3. You will learn and train yourself over the course of the 24 day the effects that the foods that you consume has on your body and the way you feel.
4. You will start to see the quality of your hair and skin improve as well as better muscle tone.
5. The results you receive from your exercise and strength training will be enhanced.
6. Enhanced mental clarity

Thanks again for question, please let me know if you have any additional questions or if I can assist you in any way

what about back pain due to early stages of arthritis?

I went through the cleanse phase, but am headed on vacation during the burn phase. It is okay to stop and then try to pick up again after 4 days off?

Hey Melissa

While it is not recommended that you break the challenge up and take a break in the middle, I assume that you could to that and still see good results.

The idea behind the cleanse is to clear out all the junk and toxins so that your digestive track is optimized to burn fat and function properly, since you completed the cleanse your digestive system is primed and ready for the max phase.

The idea now is not to add those toxins back into your body, ie fried foods, sugar drinks, dairy products etc.

I also understand that the last thing you want to think about on vacation is your diet, I honestly would say that you should enjoy your vacation and hit it hard when you return and you should be fine.
